A 23 year old man has been charged in the North in connection with two stabbing incidents in Cookstown, County Tyrone, in the early hours of yesterday.

The man, who is due to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates Court in the morning, has been charged with attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent.

Seven other men arrested in connection with the stabbings have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Two men who were stabbed received injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
