There is some good news on the jobs front today.
25 new positions are being created at the Jelly Bean Factory in Blanchardstown.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny is on hand this morning to officially open the new confectionary manufacturing facility of the company in the capital.
A new range of gourmet Belgian-chocolate-coated jelly beans will be produced at the site.
The confectionery market in Europe is worth €43.7 billion.
The firm was founded back in 1988.
Aran Candy Ltd is now trading as The Jelly Bean Factory and it is the biggest producer of high quality gourmet jelly beans in Europe.
It currently employs 55 full time staff and has annual turnover of €11 million.
The group has offices in the US, UK and the Middle East.
Customers of the company include Tesco, Superquinn, Avoca, Fallon & Byrne, Debenhams, Wal-Mart, Woolworths Australia, Airport Duty Free worldwide, Emirates Airlines and Stena Line.
Peter Cullen is joint Managing Director at the Jelly Bean Factory.
“We expect a 50% growth in export sales in the next two years and an investment programme of €1 million is planned as we grow our markets across Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East” he said.
“25 additional jobs will be generated to meet this growth, bringing total employment to 80 staff” he added.
