There were just 360 metres between two planes involved in a near miss at Dublin airport last year.
The Air Accident Investigation Unit has published its report on the matter which occurred on the evening of May 21st last year.
While a Boeing 737 was taking off from the runway an Airbus A321 mistakenly taxied onto the latter part of the same runway.
The first plane had to abort its take-off after which it stopped just 360 metres from the second plane.
The planes were carrying some 300, people between them but no-one was injured.
New routes
Meanwhile American Airlines has announced plans to begin a new route between Dublin and JFK Airport in New York.
The Transport Minister has welcomed the decision and says it will provide important new capacity between Ireland and America for the Gathering next year.
The new service is expected to start next summer.
