A further 2,837 people in Ireland have reported contracting COVID-19, the Department of Health has said. 

1,236 people took PCR tests, while 1,601 logged positive antigen test results with the HSE. 

477 people in Irish hospitals have the virus - of whom 33 are being treated in ICU. 

The five day moving average now stands at 2,491.
