A liquidator has been appointed to 3 Guineys stores.
It will see the loss of 29 jobs.
The outlets are in Talbot Street in Dublin city centre as well as those Naas and Leopardstown.
Meanwhile receivers have also been appointed to the companies which operate Clerys Department Store in Dublin.
But Newstalk’s Business Editor Ian Guider says jobs here should be safe as a buyer has already been found.
The receiver is set to quickly sell on the debts of the company of about €29 million to American investment firm Gordon Brothers.
The store will open tomorrow as normal and the 140-plus employees will be re-employed on their current terms and conditions
However the subsidiary companies of Clerys ”“ Guineys on Talbot Street and stores in Naas and Leopardstown – are going to go into liquidation putting the 29 jobs at risk.
