Three adults and one child have been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire in Balbriggan overnight.

This blaze broke out at Landy's Court at around 1:30am.

Three units of the fire brigade from Skerries, Balbriggan and Swords, and 2 ambulance crews responded.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, 2 of the adults and the child had already escaped.

Fire officers then rescued the man who was still inside and brought him to safety.

The child was taken to Temple Street Children's hospital while the 3 adults were taken to Beaumont hospital.
