Three people have been released without charge after being questioned by Gardai in Galway in connection with the murder of a Polish national.

Krzysztof Ciesielski sustained serious head injuries during an incident in Athenry last week.

The 40 year old died in hospital on Wednesday evening.

A woman in her 30s remains in custody Galway.

A file has be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
