Four people have been rescued after their boat ran aground in county Cork last night.

Crosshaven lifeboat launched shortly after 10 o'clock after receiving reports that a rib with four people on board was aground just north of Hop Island in Lough Mahon.

The boat was located and the lifeboat crew transferred the people back to shore shortly before 2 o'clock this morning.

There are no reports of any injuries.
