There are fears for 400 jobs in Dublin after a major aviation company said it was considering shutting down.
Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland says it's to discuss a possible closure with three trade unions.
Talks with the three unions are now underway at the company's plant in Rathcoole.
The company - which specialised in overhauling jet engines - says improved technology means there's less of a need for its services.
Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland was established in 1980, and 'repairs and overhauls' specific engines and their accessories. It also offers 'field services', making staff available to customers at short notice.
Arthur Hall from the TEEU believes the company has already made up it's mind to shut down, and it's come as a complete shock to staff. Hall said "it's the worst Christmas present ever".
The news comes the same day Nestlé and Deutsche Bank announced new Irish jobs.
