There are almost 500 people waiting for hospital beds today.
Daily trolleywatch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show the hospital where overcrowding is worst is the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where 50 patients are without beds.
There are 38 people stuck in the system at University Hospital Limerick, and 37 more are waiting for admission in St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin.

Of the 493 people waiting nationally for beds, 364 are on trolleys.
