Parts of northern India have been hit by an earthquake measuring 5.8 in magnitude.
Reports say buildings rattled in the capital city New Delhi.
The epicentre was located around 450 kilometres north of city according to an official at the Indian Meteorological Department.

It struck along the border of the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) gave the magnitude of the quake in eastern Kashmir as 5.7. Minor tremors were also reported in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
