A 60 year old man was attacked in his Kilmainham home in the early hours of this morning.

Two men broke into the house at Kearns Place and assaulted the 60 year old at 4am.

He was brought to James's hospital with minor injuries.

The men fled the house after they were disturbed by a neighbour.

Gardaí are appealing for anybody who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
