Police in Northern Ireland have said that 619 people were in the queue or car park of a County Tyrone hotel on the night three teenagers tragically died there.
Connor Currie (16), Lauren Bullock and Morgan Barnard (both 17) died in an apparent crush at a St Patrick’s Day disco at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown.
A police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
In a statement this evening, the PSNI said it had interviewed now interview 267 of those – with further interviews to follow.
"Extremely traumatic"
Detective Chief Superintendent Raymond Murray Said: “We are very aware that this continues to be an extremely traumatic time for all of those who were at the Greenvale Hotel and witnessed the terrible events of that night.”
“We have taken considerable steps to make it as easy as possible for them to provide their statements to police.”
Police are encouraging anyone who has mobile phone footage from the night to upload it to the PSNI Major Incident Public Portal.
“We have been downloading mobile phone footage from people at the scene by using one of our Cyber Support Vehicles in Cookstown,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Murray.
“It is still really important for anyone who has not yet contacted us to please come forward and work with police to help build an accurate picture of what happened that night.
“I would again reassure anyone with concerns, the focus of our investigation is not the age of people who were at the event – it is about trying to find answers for the families of the three teenagers who tragically died.”
Cookstown
Yesterday, the PSNI confirmed that the initial police response to the Co Tyrone disco tragedy will be scrutinised by the North's Police Ombudsman.
In a statement, they said the first officers who arrived at the hotel “withdrew to await further police support.”
The ombudsman will now examine the “timing and nature of police actions" during the initial response.
