Drugs worth €7 million seized in Kildare and Dublin yesterday were bound for the streets of the capital.
The first seizure was made in Naas last night when armed officers stopped and searched 2 cars.
They found 35 kilos of heroin and cocaine with a street value of up to €5.5 million.
Two arrests made
Two men - aged 31 and 30 - were arrested and are being held at Naas Garda Station.
Houses in Celbridge and in Palmerstown, West Dublin were then searched and €1.2 million in cocaine, herbal cannabis and diamorphine was found.
Security Editor of the Irish Independent Tom Brady spoke to KFM.
He says the gangs involved were preparing to distribute the drugs across Dublin and North Kildare.
