Over 3/4 of voters say they would vote in favour of gay marriage in a referendum.
A Red C poll commissioned by Paddy Power shows 76% of likely voters set to vote Yes, while 18% are opposed and 6% are undecided.
It is the first major opinion poll since the government announced a referendum on same-sex marriage rights in the first half of 2015.

Meanwhile two European courts have issued major rulings in favour of rights for gay people.
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that a Greek laws on civil marriage which specifically exclude same-sex couples are a breach of human rights.
However the ruling does not force other countries to extend their legal marriages to couples of the same sex.
And the European Court of Justice has ruled that persecution based on sexual orientation is sufficient grounds for people seeking asylum in a European Union member state.
