A new poll shows the majority of young voters believe that Gerry Adams was a member of the IRA.
Last night, in the final televised leaders' debate, Gerry Adams said he has never tried to hide his association with the IRA.
The survey of 1,294 people aged 18 to 26, showed that 79% of people thought the leader of Sinn Fein was a member of the IRA.
The survey of students was carried out by Generation Y last Thursday and Friday.
CEO of Generation Y Coleman Byrne, says 53% of the students questioned indicated that Gerry Adams' possible with the IRA didn't matter to them: "It seems that this generation don't really worry about that."
