8 men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with suspected dissident republican activity. The men range in age from their 20s to their 50s.

They were detained when Gardai from the Special Detective Unit searched a commercial unit in Clondalkin at midday today.

No firearms or explosives were recovered.

The men are being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at a number of Dublin Garda stations.

The gardai say it is part of on-going investigations into dissident republican activity.
