The funeral takes place today of 8-year-old Anthony Ward from Co. Cork.
The young boy was found dead in his home in Charleville on Monday morning.
His 43-year-old mother Diane Ward was charged with his murder yesterday.
Anthony will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Charleville after mass in Holy Cross Church at 2:30pm this afternoon.
A post mortem examination was carried out and it is understood the young boy died as a result of asphyxiation.
Last night his mother appeared before Limerick District Court, charged with his murder.
The court heard she made no reply when charged.
She was remanded in custody to appear in court again on September the 11th and a psychiatric report has been ordered.
