A pensioner has died following a car crash in Co Monaghan.

It happened at Cappog, Ballinode at around noon yesterday.

A car hit a ditch then collided with another car.

The 84 year old driver of the first car was removed to Cavan General Hospital where he later died.

A 37 year old woman driving the other vehicle was uninjured.
