At least nine people have died, and dozens more trapped, as an eleven storey block of flats collapsed in the Indian city of Channai last night.
The tower was under construction and most of the victims were labourers working at the site.
Police have detained two construction company directors for questioning as police investigate the collapse.
The incident was the second major building collapse in the country this weekend.
Police said twenty eight workers were rescued from the collapsed building so far and they believe there are dozens more trapped in the rubble.
Four construction workers died on the scene, while another five died from their injuries in hospital. Thirteen workers have been hospitalised.
Close to three hundred rescue workers from the police and fire service worked throughout the night looking for survivors.
