Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road crash that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy in Dublin.
It happened at around 10pm at Station Road in Clondalkin, when the car they were travelling in mounted the footpath and hit a tree.
A post mortem is due to take place later on the deceased, who was a passenger in the car.
The four other people in the car, all male and aged between 14 and 16 years, have been taken to hospital.
One is in a serious condition at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin. The other three were taken to Tallaght Hospital.
The scene was attended by Dublin Fire Brigade and National Ambulance Service.
The area was preserved and Station Road was closed to allow a garda forensic investigation, but has since re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone with information, to contact Ronanstown garda station on 01-666-7700, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111, or any garda station.
