Singer Nathan Carter has helped grant a wish to a superfan for Make-A-Wish Ireland.

The milestone 3,000th wish was for 16-year-old Jack from Cork.

Nathan returned to Cork Opera House on Friday, June 30th and Jack was treated as a VIP to watch the star perform.

He arrived at the concert in full VIP style, travelling by limousine to the Opera House from the Silver Springs Hotel.

Earlier that day he had a private audience with Nathan, where the two chatted for over an hour and played guitar and sang together.

Jack was diagnosed with IMAGe Syndrome Pole 1 when he was 10-years-old.

The illness so rare that less than 20 children in the world have it.

Jack requires a lot of medical assistance and has had multiple surgeries in his short life.

He also lives with osteopenia and an adrenal deficiency, making daily steroid use his lifeline.

'Out of this world'

The charity said Jack's love of music, especially Nathan Carter, has got him through so much.

"When he's in hospital or attending a doctor’s appointment it is Nathan’s music he listens to, keeping him upbeat and cheerful. So, it was no surprise to his parents that his wish was to meet his music idol," it said.

Jack’s mum Michelle said the experience was amazing.

"Nathan called out Jack’s name in the crowd and put the spotlight on him," she said.

"Everyone at the venue cheered for him - the whole day was just out of this world.

"Jack is here now, playing his guitar, listening to one of the three CDs he got".

Make-A-Wish CEO Susan McQuaid-O’Dwyer also attended the wish.

"We fully believe in the potential that can be achieved through music and collaboration, and today I saw first-hand how music and a special personality, in Nathan Carter, positively impacted our 3,000th wish child, Jack and his family," she said

"It was a day they will never forget. Jack has made an impression on Nathan and felt like a star himself as he performed hits with the country singer and got to experience the limelight.

"I saw how important music is to Jack and his mum, Michelle, mentioned that his hospital appointments will be less of a hardship having this special time to look back on as he listens to his music and remembers this special day.

Following his meeting with Jack, Nathan Carter has agreed to be a Make-A-Wish Ambassador.

Make-A-Wish delivers wishes to children aged between three and 17 across Ireland, who are living with life-threatening illnesses.
