A man has died after being stabbed in Dublin overnight.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the attack which happened in the Mulhuddart area.
Gardai say the 28-year-old victim was seriously injured outside a house in the Castlecurragh Vale estate just before midnight last night.
He was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.
But he was pronounced dead shortly before 1am.
The scene where the man was attacked has been preserved for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
A post mortem is expected to take place on the remains of the man later.
Investigating Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to the attack to come forward.
