A water protester has been charged with letting air out of Tánaiste’s car

A teenager, who was arrested in connection with an incident in Tallaght which occurred when Tánaiste Joan Burton was stuck in her car during a water protest, has appeared in court.

According to the Irish Times, the man in question appeared before Tallaght Court.

The 19-year-old has been charged with damaging the tyre of a garda car which the Tánaiste had been transferred to during the protest last month.

The Irish Times reports that Sergeant Bernard Jones gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution by certificate.

The teenager was granted bail and remanded to February for DPP’s directions.
