Tributes are being paid this morning to legendary Limerick actor and comedian Jon Kenny, who has passed away at the age of 66.
He will be fondly remembered as one half of the famous comic duo d'Unbelievables .
He also appeared as an actor in Mrs Browns Boys D'Movie, Angela's Ashes, and The Banshees of Inisherin.
The celebrated actor - who spoke openly about his health battles with cancer - is survived by his wife Margie, daughter Leah, son Aaron and wider family.
Limerick Councillor Olivia O'Sullivan has said the people of Limerick are devastated to hear of his passing.
"We asked him to be our Grand Marshall of the Saint Patrick's Day parade in Limerick City in 2023," she said.
"You could see John was really embracing the role - he was on his bike, cycling through the city streets, leading the parade.
"It's wonderful to look at that now and say 'I'm very grateful that we recognized him while he was with us'."
Taoiseach Simon Harris has said Mr Kenny was a gifted performer who was very human, very real, and very much loved.
It is with the utmost sadness that I have learned of the death of writer, actor and comedian Jon Kenny.
