The Sinn Fein leader is calling on the Tanaiste to meet with residents of the Short Strand area of Belfast during a visit there this week.
Eamon Gilmore will meet with the First and Deputy First Ministers of the North on Thursday to discuss the recent violence there.
Angry demonstrations have taken place in Belfast and across Northern Ireland since Belfast City Councillors decided to limit the flying of the Union flag at City Hall.
Gerry Adams says the residents of the Short Strand area are among the worst effected and the government here has to take action.
Campaign against the property tax
Meanwhile the party also says it is to mount a campaign to repeal the property tax.
The charge comes into effect from July and will see homeowners taxed based on the value of their property.
Sinn Fein says the tax hits those on lower and middle incomes and social welfare the most.
Party leader Gerry Adams says a boycott will not work.
