The Health Service Executive (HSE) has prepared advice on the Ebola virus for running childcare centres, schools and colleges.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) says the risk of the virus arriving in Ireland is very low but advice has been prepared as a precaution.
The Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan says she is supportive of the advice and is ensuring that schools are made aware of it.
The HPSC advise that the risk of the Ebola virus disease arriving in Ireland is very low.
The Department of Education says the advice prepared by the HPSC "is being brought to the attention schools and colleges to raise awareness."
