An Aer Lingus regional flight requested a priority landing in Birmingham in the UK this morning due to a medical emergency.

Flight EI-3700 from Cork was travelling to Birmingham when a passenger aged a man in his 50s became ill on board.

The crew requested the priority landing so the passenger could receive immediate medical attention.

He was rushed to the Heartlands Hospital for treatment.
