Aer Lingus pilots are to ballot for industrial action for a second time.
It comes after the airline queried the validity of the initial vote by the Irish Airline Pilots' Association (IALPA) which was done electronically.
Members had voted by 97.7% in favour of industrial action.
In a letter to members, IALPA says it will be conducting a paper ballot for members between Friday and Monday.
It will ask if members wish to vote in favour of industrial action up to and including an all-out strike in a row over pay.
The IALPA executive is unanimously recommending that members vote yes.
In-person polling stations will be open for Aer Lingus pilots in Dublin and Cork, who are being reminded to bring a passport or driving licence as proof of identity.
In a statement, Aer Lingus says it had queried the validity of the last ballot which had been conducted electronically.
It follows discussions between the union and the airline which broke down without agreement on Thursday.
Aer Lingus pilots want a pay increase of up to 24% - which has been described by the airline as 'outrageous'.
The company's Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Donal Moriarty told Newstalk the plan would see 200 senior pilots get a "€50,000 pay increase", bringing their package to just under €350,000.
