The Afghan President Hamid Karzai has accused the United States of "colluding" with the Taliban. 

He says American troops and Taliban militants are trying to convince Afghans that foreign troops are needed to maintain peace in the country. 

Mr Karzai also accused the US and the Taliban of resuming secret talks in the Gulf State of Qatar - an accusation the Taliban has denied.
