The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors has defended four of its members who staged a walkout at the AGSI conference lastnight.

The Garda Commissioner has threatened disciplinary action against the delegates from Carlow and Kilkenny who have been called to a meeting with senior Garda management to explain their actions.

The AGSI says that won't halt its campaign of opposition against the Croke Park Agreement.

A number of disciplinary actions can be taken by the delegates superiors including demotion, a fine and suspension from the force.
