AIB says internet, mobile banking and iBusiness banking are back up and running after an earlier glitch.

Some Allied Irish Banks (AIB) customers may have experienced difficulties trying to access their money or making payments earlier.

The bank was aware of an issue affecting its computer systems this afternoon.

Technical teams investigated the problem although it is not clear what the issue was. It affected AIB online banking as well as some branches for a time.
