AIB has sold off hundreds of ATMs that are not connected to its branches.
The units have been sold to Point Cash by Brink's - part of cash-in-transit company Brink's.
Under the agreement, Brink's will retain the existing ATMs.
While customers with debit cards issued in the Republic of Ireland will not see "any surcharges or additional fees" when using these ATMs.
AIB says it will continue to own and manage the ATMs and cash and cheque lodgement devices at its branches.
A spokesperson for the bank says: "AIB remains committed to serving its customers through a wide variety of options.
"As well as continuing to offer all existing services through our branch ATM network, customers will be able to bank in branch, via our app, online and by phone."
The cost of the sale was not disclosed.
Point Cash by Brink's is responsible for the transport of money, processing of securities and the management of ATMs in France.
The company is also involved in the international transport of valuables and airport security.
The Brink's Group has a presence in 55 countries, including Ireland.
It was also announced earlier this month that Bank of Ireland was selling off a network of 700 machines.
