The funerals of the two men murdered in Sligo last week will take place today. 

41-year-old Aidan Moffitt will be laid to rest in his home parish of Lisacul in Co Roscommon. 

While 58-year-old Michael Snee will be buried in Ballytivnan, Sligo. 

Speaking at a vigil outside Dáil Éireann on Friday, businessman and National LGBT Federation board member Steve Jacques told a crowd of mourners that the two men would not be forgotten: 

"Michael and Aidan: we are not letting your death and your suffering go unnoticed, our rainbow community will remember you,” he said. 

"Someone with no excuse whatsoever hurt you, and because they hurt you they hurt us".
