Alex Reid has been released without charge after he was arrested over a disturbance with girlfriend Chantelle Houghton.

The 37 year old was held in the early hours of yesterday on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to gain entry to the couple’s home in Essex.

Houghton, who has an 11 week old daughter with Reid, recently said their relationship had become “strained”.
