The junior health minister Alex White has confirmed he will run for leader of the Labour Party.
He will face off against Joan Burton, while a series of other TDs are still considering running for Deputy Leader.
Alex White addressed the media on the Rosie Hackett Bridge in Dublin - the newest bridge in the capital.
He told reporters that Labour values are as relevant today as ever - but that these must be re-tuned.
Joan Burton had a huge crowd of supporters behind her when she launched her bid and observers were watching closely to see how many Labour TDs or Senators will openly back Alex White's bid.
Attending with Mr. White at his speech today were Labour deputies Ciara Conway, Derek Nolan, Michael McNamara and Senator John Gilroy.
The Dublin Lord Mayor Oisin Quinn was also in attendance.
Meanwhile, at least three TDs are considering running for deputy leader - a position for which there are already three contenders.
Sean Sherlock, Alan Kelly and Michael McCarthy are already running. There is speculation they could yet be joined by Dominic Hannigan, Ciara Conway, and Arthur Spring.
