An Post has ‘substantially completed’ the move from its historic headquarters at the GPO to its new offices on the Dublin Quays.
The company has transferred around 900 staff from the iconic O’Connell Street landmark to the EXO building on North Wall Quay.
The company is expected to continue occupying some of the GPO office space for the next two years, before returning it to the Office of Public Works (OPW).
The GPO post office is expected to remain in place.
An Post has also announced its 2022 results today – noting that the company saw a strong recovery in the second half of the year after a tough COVID-impacted start.
The company said the move from the GPO is just one part of its ‘transformation’, which was largely put on hold during the pandemic.
It said the launch of the world’s first trackable digital stamp and a new transformation agreement with the An Post Group of Unions pointed to a bright future for the company.
It also said it was on track to deliver a 50% carbon reduction by the end of 2025.
