Last year Manchester United won the Premier League with 11 points to spare over City, as of this week they are 11 points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and likely to bow out of the Champions league in the first knock-out round.

With just shy of a dozen games left it is hard to see where United will pick up the points over their top four rivals, all of which look unlikely to have a collapse in the closing stages.

That being said Liverpool does have slightly sticker fixtures over the next few months.

Moyes did manage to sneak past his former club Everton on goal difference last weekend, but the Merseysiders do have a game in hand. To leave a mid table team to manage the league champions and then finish below them the following season would surely be a massive indictment on Moyes first year in charge.

Going on the criteria to keep your job in the Premiership in recent years Moyes would be long gone at this stage.

With many of the squad coming to the end of their career and others not pulling their weight, it’s likely Moyes will clear out the ranks in the summer in favour of fresh blood.

The problem for Moyes will be attracting top players to a club without European football. Fans may argue they signed a top player in Mata, but without the pressure to ensure playing time before the World Cup they will struggle getting signatures.

The war chest may very well be opened in the summer but if the form remains the same up to next January surely the powers that be at United will have no choice but to look elsewhere.

A top player like Robin Van Persie is also not likely to want to see out the rest of his career in the mid-table team in the league opening the door for anger among the committed ranks.

On the flip side, Manchester United have been know to pull rabbits out of hats on more than one occasion.

Should Moyes be given more time or is it a case of #MoyesOut?
