Olympic sailing star Annalise Murphy has been named Sportswoman of the Month for July.
The Irish Times/Irish Sports Council accolade was awarded to Ms. Murphy following her outstanding performance at London 2012.
Annalise finished 4th overall in the Laser Radial class at the Olympics.
The 22-year-old has been talking about her determination to make it to the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016 and win a medal.
She previosuly won Sportswoman of the Month award back in 2009 when she was just 19.
It followed her winning performance at the the Sail Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne regattas.
The Dublin woman tweeted this morning saying “Yoooo sports woman of the month! Thanks Irish times and sports council!”
