Another person has been arrested on suspicion of harassing the Taoiseach at his home during the summer.

It comes as Gardaí continue to investigate an anti-immigration protest outside Simon Harris’s Greystones home in early May.

Images on social media at the time showed protesters gathering outside the house carrying placards reading 'South Dublin Says No' and 'Close the Borders'.

At the time, Gardaí said the protesters gathered for less than ten minutes before leaving the area.

Arrest

This morning, Gardaí said a man in his 30s was yesterday arrested for “alleged harassment of an elected representative on 2nd May 2024”.

The man was detained at a Garda station in Wicklow and has since been released without charge.

Gardaí say a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.

"Out of bounds"

Speaking after the protest Mr Harris said politicians' families and homes should be out of bounds for protesters.

"I don't want to say too much about this and I don't like describing those sorts of things as protests," he said.

"I've a very clear view in relation to this - whether it's me, whether it's an opposition politician or whether it's quite frankly anybody.

"I always think people's families and people's homes should be out of bounds."

Last month, a woman in her 50s was arrested in connection with the incident, while Gardaí also arrested a man over the incident back in June.
