Newstalk today announced the addition of two new presenters to its weekend schedule.
Anton Savage will host a new current affairs magazine show on Saturday mornings from October 9th, and former Government press secretary Mandy Johnston will take over the reins of Newstalk's Sunday morning business offering Taking Stock.
The Anton Savage Show will air from 9–11am every Saturday morning, bringing national audiences their first current affairs programme of the weekend.
The show will be the perfect companion for listeners on Saturday mornings, bringing them all the news and analysis they need, the latest on the topics that are getting everyone talking at the weekend - along with a healthy dose of craic and entertainment.
Newstalk also welcomes Mandy Johnston to the presenting team.
Mandy, a former Government press secretary and businesswoman, brings a wide range of experience and industry knowledge to the table.
Newstalk's managing editor, Patricia Monahan, said: "We are delighted to welcome Anton and Mandy as regulars to the weekend schedule.
"They both bring a vast amount of experience to the station and will provide compelling content and analysis for our listeners.
"We look forward to hearing their shows alongside existing staples such as Down to Business, Futureproof and On the Record as we continue to drive the success of our weekend schedule".
Anton Savage said: "My introduction to Newstalk has been a real pleasure. It's a team of people who know talk radio, are super at what they do and are fun to be around.
"I’ve enjoyed my recent time standing in on The Pat Kenny Show and The Hard Shoulder immensely.
"It’s a brilliant time to be joining this vibrant and growing station and I look forward to doing my best to keep people entertained and informed on Saturday mornings."
Mandy Johnston commented: "Having spent many years working with the media from a public relations perspective, it is extremely exciting to now have the tables turned and to be presenting my own show.
"Newstalk is one of Ireland's most reputable dynamic media brands and I am very much looking forward to starting another new chapter in my career with some great colleagues to show me the ropes."
