Aodhán Ó Ríordáin is a Labour TD for Dublin Bay North.

He joined the party in 2002, became a local councillor in June 2004, and he was elected to the Dáil in February 2011.

He was raised in Malahide in County Dublin and grew up with his parents, Sean and Kathleen; his older brothers, Sean, Colm and Donal, and his younger sister, Mary.

Before entering politics, he worked as a teacher at St Laurence O’Toole’s girls school on Sheriff Street in Dublin’s north inner city. He was also Dublin’s Lord Mayor during 2006 and 2007.

His wife, Áine Kerr, is the managing editor of content at the online news agency, Storyful, and she has also worked as a political correspondent at the Irish Independent. They met in 2004 and got married in January 2010.
