Appeal for calm ahead of republican parade in Tyrone today

A Republican parade due to take place later in County Tyrone will commemorate IRA members - including 2 killed by their own bomb.

The march through the village of Castlederg is restricted in places - but some are angry it's being allowed to take place at all.

56 officers were hurt in loyalist rioting on Friday in Belfast.

Sky Correspondent Vicki Hawthorne is there - and says dialogue is needed fast.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Northern Ireland Secretary is appealing for calm ahead of another republican parade in the North today.

The leader of the Progressive Unionist Party - Billy Hutchinson - says many people are feeling marginalised:

 

Northern Ireland's Police Chief Constable is warning that communities will be condemned to another decade without hope unless rioting in Belfast stops for good.

 

Matt Baggott is urging politicians and community leaders to press home the message that politics is the only way forward.
