Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was hit by a car in Co Mayo.
It happened at around 12:20pm on Thursday at Market Square in Castlebar.
A woman aged in her late 60s received serious injuries after she was struck by a car, which failed to remain at the scene.
The woman, a pedestrian, was taken to Mayo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A car was later found a short distance away and was technically examined.
Officers say investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
They are also asking for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to them.
