Gardai are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket in Co Meath this evening.
It happened at around 6.20pm when a man entered the premises in Dunboyne where he threatened staff and demanded money.
He was armed with what is believed to be a firearm.
The man left the scene with a sum of cash - in a black car - and headed towards Summerhill, Co Meath.
He was eventually stopped by Gardai from Ashbourne a short while later. A firearm and cash were recovered in the car.
A 32 year old man was arrested and he is being held at Ashbourne Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
