A man is due in court this morning over an alleged armed robbery in County Cork.
Gardaí said a man entered a shop in Ballydaheen in Mallow armed with what is believed to have been a knife shortly after 6:30pm yesterday.
The man threatened staff and fled the scene with a sum of cash.
The Southern Dog Unit helped gardaí carry out a search of the area and a man in his 50s was arrested.
The knife that is believed to have been used in the robbery was also recovered.
The man was taken to Mallow Garda Station where he has since been charged.
He is due to appear before Cork City District Court this morning.
