The army bomb disposal unit is helping Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the scene of an explosion at a Dublin homeless hostel.
The unit carried out a controlled explosion a the scene as well as post-blast analysis and clearance.
A man in his 30s died in the explosion at the Depaul Supported Temporary Accommodation centre on Little Britain Street shortly after 3pm yesterday.
Five fire engines attended the scene alongside Gardaí, ambulance services and staff from ESB Networks and Gas Networks Ireland.
The explosion was confined to one room of the property and no one else was injured.
De Paul has confirmed that all the other residents of the shelter have been safely transferred to alternative accommodation.
The cause of the blast remains under investigation and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit is helping Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.
The scene remains cordoned off and traffic diversions remain in place.
The coroner has been notified and a postmortem is due to be carried out at Dublin City Morgue today.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information to contact them.
The investigation is ongoing.
