Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that he kept life changing decisions secret from his wife, including having heart surgery and running for Governor of California.
Page 16 of the Daily Telegraph tells us that despite being married to Maria Shriver for 25 years, the 65 year old actor and politician said that his ability to put his emotions on ‘deep freeze’ meant that he did not tell her about some decisions.
In a television interview to promote his new book ‘Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story’, the Terminator star said that he only told his wife days before filing papers that he would be running for office and when he went for heart surgery in Mexico, he pretended that he was just going on holiday.
Perhaps the biggest secret was that he had fathered a child with his housekeeper, which he also writes about in the book. The actor said that he did not realise that the boy was his until about seven years down the line when he started to look like him.
Shriver and Schwarzenegger are in the process of a divorce.
