From eight o'clock this morning, thousands gathered for the first Dublin City Half Marathon, under brilliant blue skies.
Around 12,000 runners took part in the race, which travelled through the north side of the city and along the coast road before wrapping up on Guild Street.
Killian Mooney of Dundrum South Dublin Athletics Club was the first to finish, with a winning time of 65 minutes and 40 seconds.
Director of the half marathon Jim Aughney told The Anton Savage Show that there was a "great atmosphere" at the finish line this morning.
"We believe the support along the route is phenonemal out there, the runners are talking about it already, there's a great atmosphere," he said.
"As you finish down in the sunshine down here in the sunshine in Guild Street it's a great morning for Dublin city."
Mr Aughney said there had been "great times" seen in the race.
