Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Davitt Road in Dublin on Friday night have arrested a man in his 30's.

A 40 year old female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a car, which failed to remain at the scene.

The woman was crossing the road at Golden Bridge Luas stop at the time she was struck.

The man was arrested yesterday evening in the Driminagh area of Dublin and he is being detained at Sundrive Road Garda Station.
